Blockchain Fantasy Soccer Game SoRare for the Metaverse

Published

on

Sorare, a Blockchain fantasy soccer game, is a variation on a classic gaming theme that brings the best elements fantasy sports leagues and crypto pay to earn. In Sorare, players are rewarded for creating teams from scratch, playing in gaming tournaments, as well as trading and collecting sets of virtual playing cards.

Any player may pick their favorite team from the real world, then, when that team actually makes a great performance in the real world, the player gets a reward proportional to the victory. There happens to be a fan base that has put up thousands of dollars and invested it into this game, making it one of the most potentially lucrative blockchain games for dedicated players. In the main article, we will discuss some of the mechanics of the game.

How Does is Work?

When we think of fantasy sports leagues, we may think of people sitting in their homes discussing the best arrangements of real world players online with their friends so that they can bet on the eventual outcomes, fictionally. When leaguers do this, they are then enabled to collect points for the performances that their players have gone on to achieve on the field during the game week. In the game world of Sorare, possessing these player cards in the form of NFTs allows the owners to sell them at will as if they were real cryptocurrencies. This means that they are the mechanism of trade and money generation in the game world of Sorare.

So, we know that in a given season, a set number and distribution of cards, according to rarity, is assembled for the players: 100 rare cards, 10 super rares, 1 unique card, then there is a baseline number of common cards that are distributed to even out the balance of cards so that everyone can start playing the game. The number of rare and common cards produced is proportional to the number of players that are playing, and the value of a card according to its rarity is of a higher value that the common cards.

Sucker For Love: First Date, Dating Simulator Now on Steam

Published

on

Sucker For Love: First Date, is a sequel to the wildly popular dating sim, First Date, which originally released in the summer of 2020 as part of Dread X Collection 2. This game is an Indie horror game that has become quite popualr with online streamers and YouTube personalities alike. It presents a kind of twist on the theme of dating simulations by throwing horror survival and Lovecraftian cosmic peril into the mix of the plot. Many, many reviewers have remarked about this series of twists and narrative turns, and in the main article, we will discuss what makes this game special.

The Setting

Sucker For Love was developed primarily by Akabaka, an independent artist and video game developer whose big draw comes from his ability to flesh out horror-themed visual graphic design and story arcs. This game adds a lot of strange and interesting dimension to the original and leaves the primary conceit of the game series intact. That being the idea that all these women are Lovercraftian nightmares come to life, which the player has to cast spells over in order to keep the fragile fabric of the cosmos intact.

The Developer’s Take

“I started DreadXP in 2019, end of 2019, as a gaming website. Since I was pitched with making some sort of crafting, love, and Lovecraftian horror, mainly working with visual novels, I didn’t really have the resources or time to make a full crafting system. So we kinda settled for, ‘okay, well what’s a genre that has items in it that can be created and used, and also has love mechanics, and I was like, well… Dating sims!” –Akabaka

Dying Light 2 is the 2022 Sequel to the Famous Game

Published

on

Dying Light 2 is the sequel to the hugely successful Dying Light, a game that was released in 2015 to positive reviews. Both games were produced by Techland Studios, but only this recent instalment was published and produced by Techland. The previous iteration was published by Warner Brothers. The main thrust of the game is based on an action-adventure horror theme, and the new game capitalizes on the original solidity of the design framework, and innovates on the original. In the main article we will review the newest features and comment on the best innovations.

The Setting

The last game, Dying Light, was set in an open world environment initially introduced as the slums, then reintroduced as Harran. This game is similarly first person horror but is set in another environment called Villedor about 22 years after the events of the main story from the first game.

The city around which the protagonist travels is a vast open world, urban environment that the player traverses using an urban jumping technique called parkour. The means by which a character travels around the open world are the crux of what makes any sandbox game fun. This game certainly goes a long way toward making this sandbox horror a fun and thrilling experience.

The Developer’s Take

“Ever since the Harran virus broke out 20 years ago, mankind had to seek refuge in the last few settlements still standing. As a wandering Pilgrim bound by no ethics or rules, you’re left looking for a long-lost sister. Travel to one of the remaining bastions of humanity, the city of Villedor. Enter its strongholds, meet its people, restore hope and unwind the past that may now come back to haunt you.” -Dying Light Website

Total War Warhammer III, The Exciting Sequel to a Great Game

Published

on

Total War: Warhammer III, is Creative Assembly’s newest contribution to the famous Total War gaming franchise. The game was released in the winter of 2022, and published by Sega after being designed and co-developed by the renowned Ian Roxburgh. The game is a continuation of the Total War series and picks up where Warhammer II left off, in a functionalized universe of monsters and fantasy. It is a turn-based strategy game that incorporates elements of several nuanced styles of play, and in the main article, we will give an overview of the game’s mechanics and background.

The Setting

The game features a few different modes of play, and in the central story-mode, the player is required to manipulate their armies around the map and manage settlements within a time-based turn system in which the computer and the player alternate control. The game focuses on a strategic application of diplomacy, declaration of war, trade agreements, and advancement of forces.

According to reviews and player-bases, this game also has a “custom battles mode” that allows players to build their own customized, real-time battles, as well as online multiplayer battles. The game promises to be a great new installment in the franchise built by the developers. The third iteration clearly has a few tweaks and innovations that make for even more re-playability.

The Developer’s Take

“It would have been very hard to predict the trajectory Total War has taken. It’s grown from feudal Japanese battles and a simple board game-style campaign to this, Warhammer 3(opens in new tab), where armies can hop between realities, where daemons and ogres clash, and where troops are led by flying monstrosities—including one that’s as customizable as an RPG protagonist.” -PC Gamer
