Mega City in the metaverse by The Sandbox

The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, announced today that it has added multiple Hong Kong partners from the film, music, entertainment, gaming sectors, etc to create Mega City, a new cultural hub.

The newcomers have committed to developing experiences in Mega City by purchasing LAND NFTs in the open metaverse and joining The Sandbox’s virtual real estate.

The Sandbox’s metaverse will soon feature Mega City built by Adrian Cheng. Alternative investment leader Sun Hung Kai & Co, professional services firm PwC Hong Kong. Additionally blockchain investment and asset management company TIMES CAPITAL. International star Shu Qi, renowned musician Dough-Boy. Moreover local illustrator Dreamergo.

The Sandbox continues to expand Hong Kong culture into the metaverse with the new project. Which features the city’s actors, movies, music, entertainment, art, professional services, finance, real estate. And gaming major figures, following its recent partnership with the South China Morning Post.

Upcoming LAND Sale

The Sandbox will have a Mega City LAND auction on January 13, 2022, allowing users to acquire land near the projects revealed today.

The Sandbox has now sold 70% of its 166,464 LAND NFTs, which were released in waves that frequently sold out in seconds. Binance, CoinCheck, Metakovan, Pranksy, Socios, and CoinMarketCap are among the current LAND owners.

Eight Hong Kong partners are participating in the Mega City Land Sale, which begins on January 13.
