Fount’s president, Young-Been Kim, stated, “We believe that new technologies are causing seismic upheavals in the way people interact with the world around them, combining the digital and physical worlds and altering the way people consume products and services. Our new ETFs, we believe, provide an appealing platform for investors to obtain exposure to these technologies.”

Furthermore, Exchange Traded Concepts’ CEO, J. Garrett Stevens, added, “We’re looking forward to collaborating with Fount to bring these ETFs to market. These funds support ETC’s approach of introducing new themes to investors that we believe have the potential to disrupt the status quo.”

The Fount Metaverse ETF follows the performance of the Fount Metaverse Index, a proprietary index that measures the performance of companies that create, manufacture, distribute, or sell metaverse technology-related products or services (AR, VR, AI, …). Indeed, the index is selecting key topics in which corporations are most likely to engage in such sectors.

Moreover, fount gathers publicly available data about companies in different sub-industries. It uses a proprietary artificial intelligence algorithm to uncover patterns from the data analysis. Thus allowing it to discover companies in the metaverse.

A one-year revenue forecast undertakes an assessment for each company after identifying the initial investment universe. Moreover, the fund only includes those to receive more than 50% of their revenue from a metaverse sub-industry.

The top 50 stocks by market capitalization are chosen for the index, with a minimum market capitalization of $300 million. Furthermore, these firms shall all be in line with the index theme.

The fund has a 0.70 percent cost ratio.
