NFT Collection, We Are All Going to Die, a Cryptic Art Piece

Published

on

NFT Collections are all, in themselves, very unique. Some are variations on a theme established by another artist, some are homages to profile picture styles that came before and kicked off the NFT revolution. Others still are even more abstract and unique and can hardly be said to be in keeping with the original NFT trajectory at all. This is all part of the beauty that makes up the landscape of NFT art in general, and a collection from artist Wagdie is demonstrative of this. In this article we will explore some of these art pieces and describe them.

The Style

These NFTs are a pixelated  profile picture style project from Wagdie that encapsulates a sort of Castlevania, medieval or gothic atmosphere within the bright and sometimes disturbing images.

We see so much of that post-gothic, video game style in this collection that it makes us yearn for the early platforming games of the late 90’s. In fact, this collection seems to be devised to evoke just that kind of nostalgia. I don’t seem to see any particular narrative attached to the pieces, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be an imaginative spin you put on it yourself.

“The We Are All Going To Die NFT collection is new in town, and people are already calling it the next Goblintown. 6,666 free-to-mint NFTs now have a floor price of 0.978 ETH on OpenSea and have no signs of slowing down. Let’s take a look at this disturbing collection.” -OpenSea

Doodles is a Pastel NFT Collection With a Laid-Back Feel

Published

on

The Doodles NFT Collection looks and feels about as chill as anything you’re likely to find in the NFT space these days. and that’s a good thing, according at least to thousands of buyers who had driven the prices up to almost $78K before the NFT crash recently. Even giants like the Bored Ape Yacht Club have been hard recently, but these little guys are still as fresh and chic as they were the day they were minted. In this article, we will be looking at the artist and the environment of the NFT art backdrop.

The Scoop

Doodles are a bright collection that are made in a range of colors, with a wide range of traits and sizes that make the collection size about 10,000. Doodles are a cool and chill, laidback and funky, and the bunch indeed likes to role-play or “transmogrify” themselves into tasty foods and desserts. Some are not Doodle-sapiens at all! Holding a Doodle allows you to participate in coordinating the Doodles Community Treasury.

The News Take

Significantly, in service of their goal of accessibility and to facilitate gasless customizing, the Doodles team has confirmed that Doodles 2 will not be on Ethereum. While the team is yet to decide what chain Doodles 2 will live on, it has confirmed that it is considering both Layer 1 blockchains, and Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solutions. Another key point that many on NFT Twitter have pointed to is the major Dapper Labs connection to Doodles. Two of the Doodles founders, Evan Keast and Jordan Castro, previously worked at Dapper Labs.” -NFT Evening

The Copyright War May Just Be Warming Up for NFTs

Published

on

In the past, which is a relative term considering the short lifespan of NFTs, non-fungible tokens were argued over and even fought over. That is still the case, of course, but now an entirely new struggle may be brewing for the NFT sector, especially for big investors. Because there is a kind of “NFT/crypto winter” in the market, the idea that NFTs are a stable investment platform has been strongly called into question. But there is light at the end of the tunnel for some. That light is taking the form of an NFT copyright expiration. In this article we will be detailing a few of the particulars of this concept.

The Scoop

Basically, what’s happening in the crypto markets is a monumental and unprecedented downturn in value. The point behind the copyright war that is brewing is that, once copyrights expire for certain collections, the blockchains they are on notwithstanding,  then anybody would be able to buy up the rights and make the value even greater for when things heat back up for NFTs.

Granted, this may never happen, but savvy investors are always on the lookout for a way to make the next big crunch their own personal rocket ship into wealth and power.

The News Take

“NFT purchasers have been enticed by the idea of marrying the digital image to derivative rights. This practice should not be dismissed solely because of the risks, but purchasers should exercise caution when acquiring these assets. I’m glad the bubble has burst, I’m glad we’re in a bear market. There’s so much deadwood on the tree, we need a giant wind to blow 95% of it away.” –Colin Brady

These NFTs Have Been Hit the Hardest Because of the Crash

Published

on

The crypto crash has hit many of your favorite collections, hard. Some have been hit harder than others, but almost none of them have escaped the current freeze unscathed. Only the most innocuous and underrated pieces have been flying under the radar; not much to lose, not much to gain. But we found a few collections that have been backed up against the ropes and fighting hard to stay in the game, and here is the list we came up with.

The Scoop

Seemingly untouchable collections such as BAYC, or The Bored Ape Yacht Club, have seen massive destruction of their value, and this may be just the beginning. Cryptopunks has also been affected negatively by the crypto crunch, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Madonna and Beeple pieces have been drowned out by the downturn as well, and we aren’t certain what elements to examine first concerning the recent market downturn.

The Developer’s Take

“We realized NFT holders wanted to put their apes to work, brands wanted to hire apes, but nothing was standardized and neither side knew how to reach each other. Finding owners and contacting them is very hard since OpenSea and marketplaces do not have a messaging function and there are a lot of anonymous people.”
