Slipknot sets a partnership with The Sandbox

Slipknot have partnered with The Sandbox to create the Knotverse, where fans can experience concerts in virtual reality, and have access to merch, masks and more.

This metaverse will allow fans to experience a Web3 home for both Slipknot and Knotfest experiences

Fans will be able to enjoy a Web3 home for both Slipknot and Knotfest events, as well as engage in live concerts and socialize with other fans in the virtual metal community, thanks to the masked metallers’ debut of this metaverse.

The Knotverse is being promoted as a “one-of-a-kind meeting place for heavy music culture in the metaverse,” thanks to a cooperation with The Sandbox, a leading virtual gaming environment and a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based game software business Animoca Brands.

NFTs and generative collections, concerts, gaming experiences, collaborations and wearables, and much more will all be available on the platform. Fans will also have access to exclusive new music, live events, festival experiences, clothing, gear, and masks.

Knotverse has been launched in connection with Slipknot’s self-curated media site and festival Knotfest

Slipknot’s self-curated media portal and festival, Knotfest, has launched Knotverse. The Knotverse would reportedly take on the festival’s dark carnival-inspired design, incorporating almost two decades of the band’s renowned themes and visuals, faithfully recreated in voxel form.

“It was another level when I started playing Quake online in 1999 and Minecraft in 2011,” explains Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan of his foray into the gaming world. “But I couldn’t have Sid [Wilson] scratching next to me at the time, and I couldn’t offer fans visual art.”

“All we could do was play the game together.” But small concepts like that are not only possible now, but they are only the tip of the iceberg. We’re paying attention, keeping an eye on things, and following our fans’ lead. And if you don’t understand or are concerned, rest assured that we will assist in bringing our fans along. We’re doing this for all of us, with all of us, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve got planned.”

“We’re delighted to welcome Slipknot and Knotfest as the first heavy music band to build a home for their community in The Sandbox open metaverse,” Sébastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, says of their work with Slipknot.

“This alliance offers a varied, freethinking new audience to experience the benefits of true ownership, as any Slipknot NFT can be used not only in The Sandbox but on any other compatible platform.”
