WISeKey, a leading cybersecurity, IoT, and AI company, today announced the launch of its Trusted Identity Metaverse at Davos with a human-centric approach designed to ensure the potential of Web 3.0 in improving the lives of all individuals, not only as consumers but also as humans.
The goal of the WISeKey metaverse is to bring together leaders and innovators in the global blockchain, Defi, NFT, and metaverse communities, as well as content creators, social commentators, entrepreneurs, and investment institutions, in order to gain a deeper understanding of where this technology is taking us and to help chart a course forward.
The first iteration of WISeID served as a trusted identity service that allowed access to online and mobile apps using robust authentication methods
WISeID enables online KYC onboarding, OTP and digital certificate login, as well as a revolutionary “hands-free” secure login based on QR-Codes that users may scan using the WISeID suite of mobile apps without having to enter passwords.
Document digital signature services are among the additional security services provided. Customers may simply increase the security of their cloud apps by integrating WISeID’s OpenID Connect and OAUTH2 implementations. WISeID may also be integrated with Microsoft Active Directory to facilitate the incorporation of enterprise applications.
The second generation of WISeID Digital Identities in the Metaverse contains a protocol-integrated identification module, while further applications will be created. Users will have autonomy over their identity, meaning they will have complete control over their personal identifying information and will thus not need to depend on a central authority or third party for identity verification. With a true NFT identity, users will be able to establish, sign, and validate claims, while others with whom they engage will be able to verify their identity. Additionally, users will be able to release information selectively.
Through their digital identities, Metaverse users may develop a reputation, so enhancing the value exchange process. Through digital signatures, requests for verification, and transactions, value is transferred; these transactions enable a user to create a reputation that can be examined and validated by other digital identities and value intermediaries.
