Worldline steps into the metaverse

With the establishment of a dedicated virtual showroom, Worldline, a global leader in payment services, has become one of the first payments organizations to enter the Metaverse.

The company’s goal is to bridge the gap between the Metaverse’s network of virtual worlds and the real world for e-Commerce businesses, giving merchants the tools they need to fully exploit the Metaverse’s great potential.

The Worldline Metaverse showroom, which launched in March 2022, is an important part of Worldline’s goal to expand its presence in the Metaverse, which is seen as the next innovative social and commerce channel and is expected to grow in popularity as Web 3.0 advances. The Worldline showroom is in the Crypto Valley region of Decentraland. By offering a platform and delivering true value and customer exposure for its network of merchants, Worldline will be able to involve and engage its network of merchants in Metaverse activities.

Worldline will continue to invest and commit considerable resources to the creation and distribution of future Metaverse-related products specifically geared to fulfill the demands of merchants desiring to enter and prosper within 3D virtual worlds following the debut of its showroom. For example, merchants will be able to create their own Metaverse white label stores, which will have direct payment links to Worldline. Purchasing and all payment alternatives available in Worldline’s payment ways portfolio, enabling for the easy and safe integration of the real and virtual payment environments.

The Metaverse plainly provides retailers and their customers with a whole different perspective. The solution developed by Worldline and its crypto processing partner Bitcoin Suisse seeks to make businesses’ entry into a new and exciting market as simple as possible. In the Metaverse, for example, goods and services can only be purchased with the Metaverse provider’s cryptocurrency. End users can purchase goods and services through the Worldline Metaverse showroom, whether or not they own cryptocurrency. As a result, the solution makes shopping easier and more streamlined, which benefits both Worldline’s merchants and their customers.
