In support of the adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection, the brands are launching an ambitious, first-of-its-kind community NFT collaboration that brings together consumers from fashion, design, and crypto.
Prada’s first Re-Nylon collection launched in 2019
Prada’s first Re-Nylon collection debuted in 2019, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The five-piece bag and belt line at the time was made entirely of recycled nylon fabrics, and the new Adidas x Prada Re-Nylon collection for 2022 uses the same sustainable fibers.
This year, the companies debuted a large, new collection, delving into ready-to-wear and accessories for the first time. A jacket with Adidas’ characteristic three stripes, bags coated in Prada’s famous Saffiano leather, and a slew of other signature garment and accessory options are among the offerings.
The pieces from the brand partnership are available to shop in Prada boutiques
The pieces from the brand collaboration can be found at Prada shops, on prada.com, and at adidas.com/prada, but it’s the NFT work that truly stands out about the revolutionary collaboration. Adidas and Prada have both encouraged their respective audiences to participate in the Open-Metaverse NFT initiative by submitting anonymous images and other digital assets.
3,000 of the community-sourced artworks will be minted as NFTs, which will then be assembled as tiles into a single mass-patchwork NFT. The breathtakingly unusual sculpture is being designed by Zach Lieberman, a well-known creative coder and prominent digital artist.
The authors of the NFTs utilized in the mosaic will maintain complete ownership rights over their individual NFT “tiles,” and participation in the user-generated initiative is free for both companies’ creative communities.
The ambitious and truly collaborative web3 initiative was completed last month
Prada and Adidas followers were able to learn about the revolutionary advantages and next-generation potential of Web3, co-creation, digital ownership, and NFTs thanks to the participatory and dynamic work that resulted. Prada and Adidas seek to “promote future consciousness” by promoting the education of art, fashion, design communities, and beyond.
