A Chinese company that specializes in indexes called Hang Seng Indexes has recently introduced a new index that monitors the performance of mainland Chinese companies that are related to the metaverse. According to the information provided by the company, the index is computed and made available in real time at intervals of two seconds.
A recent announcement concerning the launch of the Hang Seng China Metaverse Index was made by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited, which is an organization that manages and compiles the Hang Seng Family of Indexes.

The company explained in a statement that was made public that the decision to launch the index comes against a background of growing popularity of the metaverse as an investment theme among investors. This popularity comes as a result of the company’s decision to launch the index.
In addition to the addition of an index for the metaverse, Hang Seng Company Limited, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank, announced that it has also added an index for the oncology industry to its Megatrend Index Series. Daniel Wong, the director and chief index officer of the company, made the following statement in reference to the launch of the two indexes:

Both the stock markets of mainland China and Hong Kong are undergoing innovative and profound changes, and our two new megatrend indexes are designed to help investors capitalize on the potential opportunities presented by these trends.
A press statement indicates that the two new indices will be computed and distributed in real time at intervals of two seconds. Tencent Holdings, a multinational technology and entertainment conglomerate based in China, and Baidu Inc., a search engine company based in the United States, are two of the top ten companies that make up the Hang Seng China Metaverse Index, as shown in the appendix of the statement.
