Sneakmart solidifies its position in the streetwear industry through a dedicated focus on non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Additionally, the launch of Metakicks, an NFT mystery sneakers box collection, adds a new dimension through limited-edition footwear with Web3 implications.
Sneakmart is at the center of the limited-edition sneaker industry
Sneakmart, a French streetwear business with a mobile-first focus, is at the heart of the burgeoning limited-edition sneaker market. Last year, collectors and enthusiasts bought and resold these limited-edition pairs on secondary markets, resulting in a $6 billion resale market. Due to scarcity, availability, and demand, it is not uncommon for sneakers to increase in value by three times or more.
Sneakmart, on the other hand, recognizes that the industry is in the midst of a massive transformation. NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are gaining traction in a variety of industries, including streetwear.
They’ve progressed from digital art and souvenirs to a status symbol proudly worn by their owner. Metakicks, a mystery shoes box collection, was created by combining sneaker mania with NFT technology.
Sneakmart CEO and co-founder Anthony Debrandt explains:
“Sneaker addicts enjoy collecting and wearing a large number of sneakers. Today, everyone loves shoes and wears them. We aim to provide people the possibility to start collecting digital shoes through distinctive designs using Metakicks.”
The streetwear industry’s next step is to venture into digital sneakers and accessories using NFT technology. Nike’s involvement – through the purchase of RTFKT for several hundred million dollars – exemplifies the coming transformation. Metakicks, Sneakmart’s newest effort, is a separate, but equally important, venture.
Sneakerheads can get more affordable mystery boxes with digital sneakers through Metakicks. Everyone who buys a package has no idea what they’ll get. In addition, you can either open the box and show off your new digital kicks or leave it closed and resale it on the secondary market.
The mystery boxes come in 15 different designs with 3D animations and four different rarity levels (epic, super rare, rare, and normal). Each pair is associated with a specific universe and will help the owner stand out in the digital world. Furthermore, some of the designs, such as the soccer pair created for former international soccer player Didier Drogba, have limited editions.
Sneakmart has secured partnerships with celebrities
Sneakmart secured deals with celebrities and corporations to create one-of-a-kind Metakicks. Savoir Faire Paris, a French bespoke sneakers designer, is the first partner. Whoever purchases this one-of-a-kind NFT will receive a Metakicks non-fungible token as well as an exclusive Jordan 1 off-White Coffee Latte.
In the Metakicks ecology, physical pairs are extremely important. When you purchase an NFT surprise box, you have a 10% chance of winning a physical hype sneaker. Jordan 1 High, Nike Dunk Low, Jordan 4, and Adidas Yeezy 350 are among the models available. Jordan 1 High Dior, as well as four Jordan pairs designed in partnership with Travis Scott.
