Riot Games confirms Seoul as the host for the 2024 Valorant Champions from August 1–25, marking the event’s debut in Asia and APAC.
The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2024 has officially begun, with several regional competitions held worldwide. In the meantime, Riot Games has provided esports enthusiasts, particularly those in South Korea, with some very exciting news. Notably, Seoul hosted Paper Rex last year as the inaugural champions of the league at the Jangchung Arena.
Valorant Champions have a new house this 2024.
Seoul, Korea will host the event from August 1 to 25, where the best will be crowned.

Seoul hosts Riot Games
According to Jake Sin, Head of Valorant eSports APAC, it’s his pleasure to officially announce that Champions 2024 will be held here in Seoul, South Korea, from August 1 to 24. He revealed this in a statement to the press during the opening of the VCT Pacific Kickoff tournament.
He said that this is obviously very exciting news, not just for the Korean fans but for everyone in the entire Asia-Pacific region.

This marks the first time that Champions will take place in the Asia-Pacific area since Valorant Champions launched in 2021.
Berlin served as the host city for the 2022 Valorant Champions, which took place in Los Angeles last year. Conversely, the first-ever Valorant Champions event happened in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2021.
That'll be awesome! I bet the Korean fans will be great! I mean it really has to be the mecha of eSports, even if tacFPS isn't the most popular genre there.. I bet it'll still be 1 of the best events yet, if not thee best!

Determining the host
The next host city was determined by taking a number of factors into account, according to Sin. Cost, accessibility, infrastructure, Visa applications, and other factors were covered. Seoul became the obvious choice when all of these were taken into account.
Sin explained that Korea has long been a hub for eSports, and they wanted to celebrate that by bringing Champions 2024 to their doorstep. From the bustling gaming cafes to the electric atmosphere of live events, Seoul provides the perfect backdrop for the climax of the VCT. He also emphasized that the fan experience was the primary consideration in choosing this year’s venue for the Valorant Champions. Also, he added that they believe they have to meet their fans wherever they are.
With a focus on the fantastic possibilities Seoul offers for both Korean fans and the larger Asia-Pacific eSports community, Sin expressed his delight in selecting Seoul as the host city.
Selecting teams for the Valorant Champions?
With “Championship Points,” the VCT Season offers more chances for teams to earn a spot in Valorant’s top competition. These points end up being vital in deciding whether teams advance to the Valorant Champions tournament at the conclusion of the season.
Teams gather championship points with every win, earning points based on their performance over the season. Teams receive one point for each match they win in Stages One and Two, plus three points each for winning the Kickoff and Masters events.
The objective is simply to reward consistency. Only the most consistent teams will emerge victorious as the competition heats up.
However, fans can still support their favorite teams for the time being in hopes of winning a championship, earning a spot at VCT Masters Madrid, or accruing championship points that will allow them to play in Champions this year.
