This year’s edition of SIGGRAPH Asia, themed ‘LIVE!,’ marked the very first hybrid edition in ACM SIGGRAPH’s history. SIGGRAPH Asia 2021 overcame significant obstacles and challenges due to the pandemic. In addition it successfully concluded its live program at the Tokyo International Forum in Japan.
The event, which took place from December 14 to 17, brought together nearly 3,000 people from 41 nations and regions. The onsite event followed COVID-19 regulations established by the government, local governments. And the exhibition sector to ensure the safety and well-being of all in-person guests.
The conference presented a diverse range of program sessions

The Featured Sessions program, which welcomed industry leaders such as Bandai Namco Studios, Weta Digital, DNEG, DNEG Animation, and others to give the audience special insights into the outstanding VFX, was another highlight of the conference.
The Technical Papers program continues to be the anchor program of SIGGRAPH Asia
The Technical Talks program, which continues to be SIGGRAPH Asia’s main event, featured 94 specifically handpicked papers. Moreover they are chosen through a rigorous and highly polished peer-review process that adheres to the highest scientific standards.
This year, SIGGRAPH Asia presenters answered live questions from local and online audiences onsite at the Tokyo International Forum.
Nearly 30 virtual and onsite exhibitors showcased the newest hardware and software applications in the Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques field at the Trade Exhibition.
Companies and brands include Digital Hollywood University, KONICA MINOLTA, Amazon Web Services, etc. iPresence created a virtual SIGGRAPH Asia 2021 exhibition tour, which allows remote attendees to travel into the exhibition hall from anywhere around the world.
The Experience Hall encompasses the Art Gallery, Emerging Technologies and XR showcases.
The Art Gallery, Emerging Technologies, and XR exhibits are all part of the Experience Hall. Which is in the same location as the Trade Exhibition. Whitin the Art Gallery, 15 cutting-edge pieces from 147 submissions address questions about future rituals, behaviors, and modes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the exhibition days, the Art Gallery Curation Committee held a gallery tour for the Japanese public. Furthermore, virtual Art Gallery lectures were held to address the future of art and the role of the art gallery in the light of new factors such as the pandemic and NFTs.

SIGGRAPH Asia 2021 came to a close with Real-Time Live!, a showcase of virtual technologies exhibited live in front of our onsite and online audiences. Five local speakers demonstrated on stage at Tokyo International Forum as part of the hybrid event, while the other four livestreamed their demonstrations.
