STEPVR, an innovative company focusing on VR technology research and development, released VR Gates to the metaverse called Gates01 in Beijing. This product is similar to the “Oasis” in the movie Ready Player One. Omnidirectional movement and five-sense equipment enable virtual sports, entertainment, education, and work.
STEPVR is the first company to create VR MMO games, surpassing Meta and launching metaverse software and technologies
Gates01 is STEPVR’s commercial VR Gates version. It covers 3m2. The deck is a self-developed omnidirectional motion mechanism for running and stopping. Gates01 may restore vision, hearing, touch, smell, and vestibular balance in the virtual world, allowing users to experience a real, immersive virtual world in a tiny space.
2013-founded STEPVR Guo Cheng earned a doctorate from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The company develops laser location and motion capture technologies. Future Battle is STEPVR’s ultra-space free-roam VR esports brand in China. Future Battle opened 140 outlets through brand authorization and franchising in less than a year. Despite the outbreak, almost 60 partner stores must be opened. 70% of users are members, and 22% of partners have a second store. STEPVR has more than 1 million users thanks to its free-roam VR stores, making it one of the top VR brands in the globe.
The introduction of Gates01 is STEPVR’s attempt to approach the consumer market by iterating from an ultra-space VR esports venue to a tiny and comfortable area. Gates01 will launch concurrently in Korea, Japan, Singapore, the Middle East, North America, and Europe in October. Individual and family goods will launch in the first half of 2023. The size and weight of the product will be decreased by 50% to fit in homes, gyms, and businesses.
STEPVR’s Gates01 differs from Meta’s Oculus Quest. Dr. Guo, CEO of STEPVR, believes VR headsets may create motion sickness and provide an unreal experience due to their inability to restore vestibular, which helps users maintain balance. Companies are heavily subsidizing VR headset users to boost sales. Dr. Guo considers it ridiculous because sellers can’t identify consumers’ true product needs.
Dr. Guo believes virtual reality and metaverse pertain to the same thing but are named differently. STEPVR makes the greatest product for users so they can enter the metaverse and experience the virtual world.
