Axa introduces a new metaverse instrument

Axa Investment Managers has launched a fund that invests in companies that play a role in the metaverse. The Axa WF Metaverse fund is an actively managed multi-cap equity fund that invests in developed and emerging markets.

Pauline Llandric, as well as co-managers Tom Riley and Jeremy Gleeson, who handle AXA IM’s robotech and digital economy strategies, will manage the fund, which will invest in 40-60 firms that play a role in the convergence of the digital and physical worlds.

The metaverse is a digital environment that uses augmented and virtual reality to create 3D virtual worlds.

The industry, according to Llandric, is in the early phases of a long-term trend that is fast growing. He stated, “Revolutionary and cutting-edge technical breakthroughs have revolutionized the way we live, socialize, work, and conduct business.”

“The metaverse is the meeting of virtual and real worlds, where more technology is stacked on top of ordinary life, and the internet’s expansion connects people, places, and things.”
