Soul Hackers 2, The Long-Awaited Sequel Comes in 2022

Published

on

Soul Hackers 2 is the sequel to the classic Soul Hackers, both of which were published by Atlus, and published by Sega. The sequel is set to be released for PC and console as soon as the fall of 2022. The greater series in which the game takes place is called the Devil Summoner series, and this, once published, will officially be the fifth game in that franchise. This game provides the same late-21st century atmosphere with all new mechanics and story enhancements. In the main article, we will be examining the main game and the plot of this exciting new installment.

The Setting

Set in the late 21st century, this game continues the story of the franchise and picks up where the last game, Soul Hackers, left off. In the city, there is a constant battle occurring between the Yatagarasu and the Phantom Society, and the player is thrust squarely into the middle of the epic fight.

Battles in which the player participates are each composed of a party of up to four characters, and the elemental designations of the characters gives an advantage or a disadvantage to the player. It is also a turn-based game similar to the Final Fantasy franchise.

The Developer Perspective

Primarily, we approached development with the idea of creating content that would appeal to everyone who supports current Atlus products. We also wanted to create a title that would be enjoyed by the enthusiastic fans who had been waiting for the sqeuel. It was very difficult to find the right balance between the two. I think we ended up with a title that sticks to the direction we wanted it to go in.” -Developer

Far From Home is Releasing “Forever Skies” in Late 2023

Published

on

Far From Home is Releasing “Forever Skies” in Late 2023. This slow-burn, first-person apocalyptic game is the newest effort from the developers at Far From Home, and it promises to be a winning release. According to sources, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the Earth has been completely devastated by an unknown catastrophe. This cataclysm has covered the planet in a radioactive dust that is most hazardous. The player is thrust into this sickly and hostile world and must make their way across it to survive. In the main article, we will be examining the game and its mechanics for you.

The Setting

As stated, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world after the vents of a nuclear disaster. The wasted and hostile landscape is something to be reckoned with all on its own, but there are a number of challenges that are going to make things interesting. The enemies that compose the pantheon of hostiles is diverse and terrifying.

The game can be played co-op, or cooperatively, or as a solo game wherein one just follows the story. Interestingly enough, the player does start out in a rudimentary airship, or sky craft that enables travel throughout the landscape.

The Developer Perspective

Sometimes we hear that Warsaw or Kraków, for example, are very polluted cities, like the most polluted cities in the world. And now, sometimes, we receive messages on the phone that say, ‘if you can, just please stay at home because going outside is dangerous.’ The air is like poison…and this was one of the many things that we were like, ‘yeah, maybe this is a good topic to speak about.” -Far From Home CEO

on

Last Days of Lazarus, winner of the Best Romanian Indie Game and Best Visuals Awards in development, is coming in 2023. This gothic first person game is set in an alternate future in the era just after the fall of the Iron Curtain. This game’s plot is quite detailed and rich, providing the main backdrop for the mechanics of the gameplay. It is being developed and published by GrimTalin, and it is run on the Unreal Engine 5. As the world falls apart, the main character of the game must make it home before it’s too late. In the article we will examine why this game is so highly anticipated.

The Setting

The game is set in an era shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union, and the events become increasingly grave and supernatural. The main character finds himself on a road to his former home and the course of his travels leads him to confrontations with powerful beings and old friends, and enemies.

The game, in pre-development, has received a number of awards and acolytes from reviewers and indie magazines alike. The adventure dynamic and intimate character development are particularly interesting and may yet win the game another award.

The Developer Perspective

Last Days of Lazarus is a first-person adventure game with a strong narrative and rich visuals drawing its inspiration from the post soviet era with a Gothic vibe and supernatural elements. As the story unravels, you’ll meet questionable characters whose corrupted version of the truth you’ll need to navigate. With a troubled past yourself, you’ll struggle not only with solving the mysteries laid upon you but also with keeping alive any sliver of hope for salvation.” -Developer

Flock! Comes to PC and Console in the Summer of 2023

Published

on

Developed by Proper Games, the Flock! game is set to release in the summer of 2023. The game will be published by gaming giant Capcom, and they have been pretty forthcoming about their confidence in the game. The whole game is a kind of zany puzzle, action-adventure game which puts the player in control of a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) and requires them to find a solve environmental puzzles. In the main article we will examine the game and what it stands to contribute to the gaming genre.

The Game

Basically, the game focuses on a rather, on the surface, mundane task of rounding up all the cattle and farm animals in a certain area in order to abduct them. However, this task ends up providing many more challenges than at first it appears it would.

There are a total of 55 playable levels that will engage the player and force them to use new skills, and older skills in new ways in order to get the task accomplished. It get’s pretty difficult, if I’m honest. But it more than makes up for it’s simplicity in fun and progressive gaming mechanics.

Interest

One of our biggest hurdles was creating a game that was accessible to everyone right away.  To that end, we did a lot of tuning with the level progression to ensure users wouldn’t get overwhelmed early on, but we had to make sure that a lot of new interesting things unlock to keep the player engaged.  We also spent a lot of time tuning the controls to make them as intuitive as possible.  We wanted to ensure the game was technically accessible to as many players as possible so we had an entire team devoted to making the game run on lower speced PCs.  From all that effort, I believe we achieved our goal of making the game easy to pick up and enjoy.” -Developer
