Healthcare major Apollo Hospitals Group, on Thursday, announced its collaboration with California-based deep tech start-up, 8chili Inc, to enable patient engagement in the metaverse.
The cooperation will offer pre/post-operation patient counseling using virtual reality (VR). Allowing for enhanced patient participation as well as giving skill mastery for hands-on training for healthcare staff. It is a first-of-its-kind project in the healthcare business.
In a virtual news conference to launch the partnership, Prathap C Reddy, Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, noted that patient expectations are continuing to rise. Moreover, that healthcare providers must continue to adopt emerging technology to give the best possible care.

VR-mediated activities
Apollo Hospitals may utilize 8chili’s HintVR platform to engage users (patients) in virtual reality-mediated activities to improve their ability to control emotion. Patient satisfaction will improve as a result of this personalized approach to each patient.
