Yuga Labs’ ‘Sewer Pass’ NFTs Surpass $70 Million in Sales in Less than 30 Days

Yuga Labs’ ‘Sewer Pass’ NFTs Surpass $70 Million in Sales in Less than 30 Days

Sewer Pass, a new non-fungible token (NFT) project launched by Yuga Labs, the development team behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC), Otherside for Otherdeed, and ApeCoin has surpassed $70 million in sales volume in less than 30 days after launch.

While much of the sales have been attributed to the success of the BAYC and MAYC projects, Yuga Labs played its cards well by making the NFT a requirement in its latest blockchain game which has become an integral part of the expansion of ApeCoin’s ecosystem.

Sewer Pass NFTs are required to play Dookey Dash

When Dookey Dash, a skill-based endless runner game which is likened to Temple Run and Subway Surfers went live on Jan. 18, Yuga Labs launched Sewer Pass NFTs as a need to have before potential players can become eligible to participate in the blockchain-based metaverse game.

Sewer Pass NFTs as a requirement were similar to holders of BAYC and MAYC being eligible for ApeCoin (APE) token airdrop in June 2022.

While Bored Ape and Mutant Ape NFT holders were eligible to claim free Sewer Pass NFTs on Jan. 18, many of the digital collectibles were placed on the secondary market by BAYC and MAYC holders that saw an opportunity to make money within a short period.

This is the primary reason why the collectibles’ price increased from 2.1568 ETH (approximately $3,455) on Jan. 18 to 3.8395 ETH (around $6,321) as of the late evening hours of Feb. 15 on OpenSea.

Increment in unique buyers

The potential increment in resale value led to a significant rise in unique buyers as well as total owners. As of the end of January when the NFTs had been on sale for 14 days, unique buyers stood at 6,145 from the activities of 11,883 total owners who were involved in 14,170 transactions. Sewer Pass NFTs sales were approximately $57.4 million during the first month of the year.

While momentum has fallen sharply due to the launch of new NFT projects, Sewer NFTs had still seen an impressive $17.2 million, as of mid-February from the activities of more than 1,600 unique buyers involved in over 3,400 transactions.

Sewer Pass makes a positive statement in the NFT world

Since the NFT buzz became a main theme in the decentralized finance (DeFi) world, few projects have been able to generate sales in the region of what Sewer Pass has accomplished in less than a month. Otherside for Otherdeeds, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and Moonbirds are among the projects to have generated millions in their opening month.

With $74.5 million in total sales, Sewer Pass has surpassed projects such as CryptoSkulls, CryptoPhunks V2, Mutant Cats, Panini America, SHIBOSHIS, Imaginary Ones, Hype Bears, Degen Toonz, Ape Kids Club, Alien Worlds, ABC, Stoner Cats, Trump Digital Trading Cards, and Apocalyptic Apes on the log of the biggest NFT projects by all-time sales.

With the rise in the price of metaverse token ApeCoin and the expansion of its ecosystem on the horizon, Sewer Pass could be on its way to surpassing the $100 million milestone faster than most popular NFT projects.
